RGT-20 & RGT-24
STEEL SECTIONAL DOORS Model RGT-24
for normal installations and heavy duty model RGT-20 for added security.
The semi-flush panel configuration of these doors creates a pleasing
horizontal line effect. all doors are factory finished white from
pre-painted steel.
CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS
GENERAL: Sectional overhead doors as manufactured by R.G. Tombs Door Co. and as shown on plans. Door sections shall be constructed of (20) or (24) gauge hot dip galvanized steel (G-90 galvanized coating).
Sections. Sections shall be roll formed from pre-painted steel to a two-inch thickness reinforcing ribs and six horizontal beads. Horizontal meeting rails shall provide a tongue & groove joit with a smooth rolled return lip inside. Bottom rail shall have heavy duty vinyl astragal as step plates attached so as to reinforce bottom hirizontal rail. End stiles shall be heavy gauge steel "U" shaped to contain the 2" deep section on both sides. Center stiles shall be "Z" shaped and attached to the upper and lower rails and to both reinforcing ribs at intermediate points. Assembly shall be by means of riveting. Track. Track shall be heavy gauge galvanized steel. Vertical track shall be taper mounted to provide a wedge type closing action. Vertical track shall be attached to: wood casings with adjustable brackets; wood casings with continuous, regular 14 gauge galvanized steel angle; or steel jambs with continuous 1 14 gauge galvanized steel angle. Horizontal track shall be reinforced with galvanized steel angle. Hardware. Rollers have continuous steel rim, ten 1/4" hardened ball bearings, in-case hardened inner and outer races. Roller hinges shall be 14 gauge galvanized steel. Bottom corner bracket if fabricated from heavy gauge coated steel. Bracket is attached to and end style to form a lifting cradle and also holds cable assembly securely in position at each side of door. Top corner bracket shall be galvanized steel and shall be adjustable. Model 27(20) doors 14' 3" (16' 3") wide and wider have one reinforcing strut per section. Lock. Spring Counterbalance, Torsion Type: Doors shall be balanced by helically wound, oil tempered torsion springs. Spring assembly shall be contained on continuous steel shaft, retained in ball bearing brackets. Lift cables shall be galvanized, aircraft quality with a substantial safety factor. |
